ABOUT FOX PILATES & POSTURE
Michelle Fox has been around horses from the age of 2 and her mum got her into riding from the age of 3 and hasn’t stopped since. In her early days it was Showing that took her interest however in the last 12 years it’s been dressage, competing up to Medium level.

Michelle has suffered with lower back pain since her teens, having regular chiropractic treatment to alleviate the pain. Michelle has also yoyo dieted through her adult life.

In training sessions, Michelle was always told to “sit up, stop tipping forward”, “get your shoulders back”, “stop lower leg from going back.” Michelle tried her best to fix these issues but never really mastered it and in the process would only make her back issues worse.

Then in early 2017 Michelle was recommended by her trainer to visit an Equipilates trainer who would help her with her posture on and off the horse. Michelle admits she was skeptical but thought she would give it a go. Michelle had a full biomechanical assessment which reviewed her flexibility and movement. It came as no surprise to Michelle to learn that she had reduced flexibility especially in her lower back and hips and that she also had a leg length difference. She was given prescriptive anti spasm exercises to do daily and asked to return in 2 weeks. 2 weeks later the results were amazing with increased flexibility and no longer a leg length difference.
Michelle was so impressed with the changes that she started to research the Equipilates system further and eventually decided to become an Equipilates trainer herself as she wanted to help people to improve their health and fitness and ultimately their riding.
